Deluxe Combination Rug / Floor Tool

The Miele S2120 Olympus comes standard with a combination rug / bare surface combination floor tool. With a simple step of a switch a brush extends out of the floor tool for cleaning bare surfaces, and retracts back into the head for cleaning rugs and carpeting. The combination tool is most effective for cleaning very low pile carpeting such as indoor / outdoor, commercial grade carpeting. The S2120 can be upgraded to use the Miele STB205-3 Turbo Brush for homes that have plush thick piled carpets, or for homes that have pet hair problems. 

Crush Proof Suction Hose

Most vacuum cleaners on the market, both upright and canister use what's called a wire reinforced suction or attachment hose. Throughout the hose is a stiff, un-bendable wire that reinforces the hose's shape. Theproblem with these hoses are that if they are stepped on, or crushed, the wire inside of the hose will bend, leading to the hose loosing suction power, and ultimately damaging the motor due to lack of airflow. Miele however uses what's referred to as "crush-proof" hosing. The crush proof hose used on Miele canisters is much stronger, lighter weight, and much more durable then wire reinforced hoses. Miele hoses can be tied in a knot, stepped on, twisted, even run over by a car, and the hose will always come back to it's orignial shape and form.

Miele S2 Attachments

The Miele S2 Series come standard with three different on-board attachments. These on-board tools are conveniently stored on the tool caddy clip that attaches to the new VarioClip™, located either on the top of the hose, or on base of the hose. Attachments included with the Miele S2 series are; corner and crevice tool, natural hair, multi-angle dusting brush, and the upholstery and stair tool that even has lint attractors included. The dusting brush is incredibly well engineered, as the brush will rotate to different angles for different types of cleaning applications. The brush itself is a soft natural horse hair brush that is soft enough that it can be used to dust television screens and other delicate items without fear of scratching them.

Variable Speed Motor Control by Rotary Dial

The Miele S2180 Titan has a 6 position variable speed motor control on the base of the canister which is controlled by a rotary dial. All Miele canisters have this feature, but the location of the speed control varies from model to model. This speed control gives you the ability to lower the motors suction for delicate cleaning. The dial has a diagram for each six settings of what the particular speed is recommended to clean. The six settings are listed from the minimum suction to the maximum suction power: Lowest setting to clean Draperies, Upholstery, Rugs, Economical Carpeting, Low Pile Carpets such as Berber, and Full suction for bare surface floors.

360 Degree Castor Wheels

All Miele S2 canister vacuum cleaners come equipped with 3 Castor wheels on the bottom of the canister. Most canister vacuum cleaners will have two large stationary wheels in the back of the machine, and a small spinner wheel in the front of the vacuum. This type of system can cause the canister to tip over if it's pulled from the wrong angle. The Miele wheels however are the best engineered canister wheels on the market! Each wheel spins on it's own independent axis, allowing you to maneuver the canister frontwards, backwards, sideways, or any way you want it to go, without tipping over. These 360 degree rubber castor wheels will allow the Miele canister to easily follow you around, like a little puppy dog would.

Miele's 1200W Vortex Motor

Miele's 1200 Watt German made Vortex Motor, is by far one of the quietest vacuum motors on the market. Do not let the lack of noise fool you however, as the Miele Vortex style motor creates 25% more airflow then standard bypass motors. The Miele Vortex motor has a suction rating of 111" of water lift, 26% more powerful then their previous 1100 Watt design. Besides the increased performance and efficiency, the carbon brushes on the Miele Vortex motor are located directly behind the fan, the coolest place on the motor. Because the motor brushes are running at much cooler temperatures then most clean air bypass motors do, the life expectancy of the Miele motor is double that of traditional motors. Miele warranties this motor for 7 years, parts and labor.

Standard Super-Air Clean Filtration

The Miele S2120 Olympus model comes packaged from Germany with just a standard Super air clean filter, which is conveniently included with every box of genuine Miele vacuum cleaner bags. This filter should be replaced every 4-5 bags, or every time you open a new box of bags. The Miele S2 Series models can all be upgraded to the better Miele Active HEPA Filter for homes that have breathing issues or asthma, or for people just looking to keep the amount of dust circulating in their home to a minimum. The standard super air clean filter captures 94% of particles down to .3 microns, where as the HEPA filter captures 99.97% down to .3 microns.
